An Autobiography

This book is an autobiography/childhood memoir/family history. The lines between categories of stories often blur, but it scarcely matters what you call it. It is written in first person from a yearning heart, and is a full-length book belonging now to the family of the author.

“Sometimes our playmates were Sherman and William Simmons. Mother made us quit playing with them when we kept getting in fights with them. They had a mean trick of shooting their B-B gun at us, would sting us badly, and shoot holes in our screen door and make dents in our woodwork. We didn’t have a B-B gun, but we kept them pretty well hemmed in with Davis’ 22 rifle.”
